Panthers won 2-1 after a shootout on the road at Manchester Storm last night to go top of Challenge Cup Group A.
Netminder Kai Edmonds turned away four of Storm's shootout attempts, while Zack O'Brien - who had earlier netted in the second period - and Tim Doherty scored their penalty shots.
Saturday night was a stunning one for Fife who thrashed Guildford Flames 10-2 in Kirkcaldy, led by hat-tricks for Xander Lamppa and Joseph Pierce.
Today's game sees the return of Tim Wallace who was coach of the Panthers from 2019 to 2022, which included winning the Elite Series in May 2021 during the covid pandemic.
It's also a first time back in Nottingham for defenceman Victor Björkung who iced for the Panthers in the early part of the 2023/24 season.
View from the Bench
Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: "From what we've seen on video, they have some good structure and they've adopted a blue-collar mentality and it's working for them.
"They've certainly going to be a lot more competitive this season and we expect a tough match. They've played some good teams already and beaten them.
"They have good goaltending and their special teams have been elite so far. They have a lot of factors that make them tough to beat."
