The Nottingham Panthers secured a fantastic two points on-the-road with a 5-4 overtime victory against Cardiff Devils in the Viaplay Elite League.

Albin Lindgren scored the winner with 22 seconds remaining in the extra period after Stephen Anderson had earlier scored twice in regulation time.

Peyton Jones started between the pipes for a second successive night, with Alex Dubeau as back-up, while Archie Hazeldine returned to the line-up after icing for Leeds Knights in the NIHL on Saturday.

The Devils led by one at the first intermission through Brodie Reid's rebound after Josh Waller hit the post (13:02).

Panthers hit back early in the second period when Jeremy Welsh and David Levin combined to set-up Anderson (21:50), but Cardiff regained the lead through Reid's neat finish on a breakaway (31:34).

Nottingham scored twice in just over two minutes to turn the game around as Levin's shot short-handed hit Ben Bowns and looped into the net (33:24), before Mike Hammond fed Anderson to fire into the top corner for his second of the night (35:27).

Trevor Cox set-up Cole Sanford for Cardiff's equaliser (37:17) and moments later, Jones made an outstanding save to deny Riley Brandt.

Hammond scored a superb short-handed breakaway to put Panthers ahead again, faking to shoot and then rounding Bowns on his backhand, while Cardiff came close to an equaliser as Sanford hit the pipes.

Cardiff lifted Bowns for the extra skater and equalised when Cox got the final touch to a bouncing puck (58:17).

In overtime, Welsh's backhand shot hit the crossbar and Hammond was denied on the breakaway, while Jones made a good save Sanford's close-range shot.

Lindgren scored his second goal in as many games to seal two points for the Panthers as he swept home a loose puck after Bowns had saved Welsh's shot.
