PANTHERS BEATEN ON THE ROAD IN CARDIFF

Nottingham Panthers were beaten 7-2 in Wales by Cardiff Devils in Elite League action on Sunday night.
Matt Alfaro remains out of action with a lower-body injury. Kevin Carr started between the pipes with Luca Sheldon as back-up.
The hosts led 2-0 just past the 10-minute mark through Joey Martin's wrist-shot (07:51) and Ben Davies from the slot short-handed (10:31).
Martin scored on the powerplay from close-range for his second of the night (13:30), before Panthers netted twice in three-and-a-half minutes.
Brendan Harris scored from a tight angle (15:56) while Ross Armour tipped Tim Doherty's shot (19:27) to make it a one-goal game.
Martin fed Josh MacDonald for Cardiff's fourth (25:37), Brett Perlini set-up Riley Brandt (30:17) and Cole Sanford scored from the slot (34:57) as Cardiff led 6-2 at the second intermission.
Davies turned provider to feed former Panther Kristoff Kontos midway through the third period (49:46) as Devils secured a convincing victory.
