PEARSON RETURNS FOR SECOND SEASON
Forward Chase Pearson has signed a contract to return to the Nottingham Panthers for a second season.
Pearson scored 45 points in 47 matches last season, scoring 22 times as he led the team in goals.
He had 13 points (4+9) as Panthers won the Challenge Cup for a ninth time with a 3-2 overtime victory against Coventry Blaze, assisting on Jakob Stridsberg's goal in the third period.
Pearson added two assists in the Continental Cup Final in January as the Panthers won the European trophy for a second time.
"A full season of playing in front of the fans at the Motorpoint Arena made me want to stay, along with us winning a couple of trophies," said Pearson.
"The city itself is amazing and I have really enjoyed my time here.
"It was great to win the Challenge Cup and Continental Cup, but I know the league is the most coveted. I know we have the building blocks in place here.
"We have guys that can make a difference. Year on year, it's clear that the team is going in the right direction."
Panthers Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: "Chase is a key signing for us. With Alfie already confirmed, this gives us two elite C’s up the middle.
"The ceiling is very high for Chase. When he’s on top of his game, he’s tough to match. I think with a year under his belt, and coming in knowing what to expect, we will see even more from him.
"His size, speed and strength are very tough to play against, and I have no doubt he will play a huge role in our team next season."
