Nottingham Panthers face a two-game weekend against Fife Flyers at home on Friday night (19:00) before travelling to Cardiff to face the Devils on Sunday afternoon (16:00).

Panthers have won all the previous five meetings against 10th-placed Fife this season so far, but the visitors have beaten Panthers title rivals Belfast Giants, Sheffield Steelers and Cardiff this season. They also beat the Flames 4-3 in Guildford last weekend, so nothing can be taken for granted.

Tim Doherty is the leading points-scorer for Panthers in games against Fife this season with three goals and seven assists for 10 points in total. Mitch Fossier has also found the net four times against the Flyers.

Flyers have former Panthers players Simon Després and Logan Neilson in their line-up.

Forward Josh Winquist is their top points-scorer in the Elite League with 13 goals and 24 assists. He is closely followed by fellow forward Keaton Jameson (15+16), forward Etan Somoza (12+18) and defenceman Ian Scheid (8+21).

With playoff qualification out of reach for Fife this season, they are playing for pride but will be no less of a challenge as several other Elite League teams have found out this season.

On Sunday, Panthers travel to the Vindico Arena in Cardiff to take on the Devils which could have implications for the title race. In short, both teams need to win!

The series between the two sides is split so far this campaign, with three victories each.

Panthers do have a better record in Cardiff though with two wins and a loss, taking a 4-1 victory the last time the two sides met at the Vindico Arena on 1st February.

Mitch Fossier leads the way for Panthers in games against Cardiff this season with two goals and five assists for seven points. Next comes Matt Marcinew (4+1), Cooper Zech (2+3) and Tim Doherty (2+3) all tied on five points each.

Devils forward Riley Brandt is in top form having scored a hat-trick in Belfast last Sunday and is having a career season with 17 Elite League goals so far.

Forward Josh MacDonald leads Devils in point-scoring with 40 points (22+18). He's followed by Joey Martin (14+24), defenceman Brandon Estes (4+33) and former Panther Kristoff Kontos (11+25).

It promises to be a pivotal weekend in the title race with Sheffield Steelers also facing leaders Belfast Giants on Saturday and Sunday at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield.

With Panthers' game in Cardiff on Sunday against the Devils, the title picture could be very different come Sunday evening depending on the outcomes.
