Grant, who was born in Birmingham, spent 10 years working in North America.
He played for Solihull Barons as a junior before moving with his family to Canada as a teenager.
Grant spent five years working in Mount Royal University in Canada in the CIS and USports leagues, before moving to work in the NCAA with the University of Michigan.
During his final year in North America, Grant was Assistant Coach with Okotoks Oilers in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
