Nottingham Panthers are thrilled to announce defenceman Zsombor Garát will return for a third successive season.
The 28-year-old first joined the club in October 2024 and helped Panthers win the playoffs in April 2025, assisting on Mitch Fossier's game-winning goal in second overtime in the 4-3 victory over Cardif Devils.
Garát scored seven goals and 15 assists for 22 points in 47 Elite League matches last season and led the team in plus-minus with +28.
The defenceman also contributed five points (4+1) in the Challenge Cup as Panthers lifted the trophy for a ninth time with a 3-2 overtime victory against Coventry Blaze.
Garát was also part of the Continental Cup-winning team, which won the European title for a second time. The blueliner scored in the 4-0 victory over Riga in game one, before netting the empty-net goal in the Gold Medal Game to secure the trophy with a 4-2 win against Torpedo.
Garát has quickly become a popular player on and off the ice, with supporters, players and staff at the Motorpoint Arena.
After turning professional in the 2018-19 season, Garát played in both the Slovakia top-flight and the Erste Liga before moving to North America.
He played 62 times for Worcester Railers in 2023-24, scoring 15 (2+13) points.
