David Clarke joined The Nottingham Panthers at the inception of the EIHL and, outside of one year in Italy, never looked back.
After spells with Peterborough, Newcastle, Milton Keynes, London & Guildford during his early career David found a home in Nottingham in 2003 when then Head Coach Paul Adey brought him to the club.
During his time in black & gold David became the Elite League's all-time leading goalscorer, hitting the back of the net on 295 occasions, whilst sitting third in all-time points scored with 572.
Wearing the captains "C" on numerous occasions whilst also taking on assistant-coaching duties in his later years David found unprecedented success in Nottingham as he lifted:
- 7x Challenge Cups (2003/04, 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12, 2012/13, 2013/14, 2015/16)
- 5x Playoff Trophies (2006/07, 2010/11, 2011/12, 2012/13, 2015/16)
- 1x League Championship (2012/13)
- 1x Continental Cup (2016/17)
After retiring at the end of the 2017/18 season his iconic #5 was lifted to the rafters at the start of the 2018/19 campaign where it will be hung forever more.
