NIEMINEN SIGNS NEW DEAL WITH PANTHERS

The Nottingham Panthers are excited to announce that Finnish forward Otto Nieminen is returning to the club for the 2024-25 season.

The 27-year-old had a fantastic first year with the Panthers, playing all 54 Elite League games last season and led the team in goals (25) and points (52).

He was named Fans' Player of the Year and was the joint-winner of the MVP with Hugo Roy which was selected by the coaching staff.

Nieminen said: "There are so many reasons why I wanted to come back - the amazing fanbase, the facilities and I have just enjoyed my team here so much.

"Since leaving Finland, this is where I have been my most happiest so it was a really easy decision for me.

"From playing in Nottingham before in the Champions Hockey League, I knew the noise was loud but last season exceeded my expectations.

"It was special every night and I just love the noise in this arena. Winning is a big motivation and I want to help bring good times back to the club."

Panthers CEO, Omar Pacha, said: "We couldn’t be more pleased to have Otto back. He is not only a natural scorer but also is relentless every shift.

"He plays hard and is the ultimate true professional. Otto returning brings continuity to the team and that's important.

"Otto really embraced being a Panther and we know he is ready to make a bigger impact on and off the ice next season."
